'A Never To Be Forgotten Day' By Alan Duckworth and Darwen Library and the National Home Reading Union by Dr R J Snape.

Alan Duckworth, local historian, author and Community History Librarian, has produced a new 34 page booklet in celebration of Darwen Library Centenary.
The booklet entitled 'A Never To Be Forgotten Day' charts the history of print, through to the establishment of Darwen Library, although the booklet is small, the information within is very detailed and an excellent read.
As with many of Mr Duckworths books, it will not be on the shelf long and is a must for any local history buff and can be purchased from Darwen & Blackburn Library.
